Further Details On Rey Fenix's Current Injury

Rey Fenix on his current injury

Rey Fenix has provided further details about his current injury, revealing that an old injury has started to bother him again since Dynamite Grand Slam when he won the AEW International Championship.

"The international championship has been a big challenge. The night I became champion, I left the arena with the championship in my hands and with an old injury bothering me again. My first defense was painful, it did not allow the pain to stop me and continue until the fight was over, this coming Wednesday will be my second defense and I am doing my best to enter that ring and retain the champion. I will defend this beautiful championship in any situation, a Luchador does not give up, a Luchador will always leave everything in every battle. I am a real Luchador and the man of a thousand lives, nothing and no one is going to stop me. R3Y F3N1X," Fenix posted on Instagram.

Fenix suffered the injury on a dive to the outside to Jon Moxley that gave the Blackpool Combat Club member a minor concussion. Fenix wasn't supposed to win the International Championship at Grand Slam but he captured the belt after Moxley called an audible.

Fenix defended the International Title against Jeff Jarrett and the luchador will put the belt on the line again against Nick Jackson on the October 4 edition of Dynamite. The Lucha Brother was also in action alongside Penta El Zero Miedo at WrestleDream in a Four-Way for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Titles. Fenix was written out of the match early due to him being banged up
