Gail Kim & Awesome Kong Coming Out Of Retirement For IMPACT 1000

IMPACT 1000 will see Awesome Kong and Gail Kim return to the ring

IMPACT Wrestling are gearing up for the 1000th episode of IMPACT TV, and have announced that two of the most important stars in company history are set to return to the ring for the event.

Long-time rivals and pillars of the Knockouts division, Awesome Kong and Gail Kim are set to return to the ring for IMPACT 1000, but the two will be teaming up rather than throwing down against one another. No opponents have been announced to take on the fearsome duo, but Kim threw out a challenge to any Knockouts ‘past or present’ to stand with them or against them.

Kim and Kong’s long-running rivalry helped change the face of women’s wrestling in North America, with the two helping make the Knockouts Division must-see in the mid-to-late 2000s. For Kong, IMPACT 1000 will mark her first match since 2020, and her first in an IMPACT/TNA ring since 2016. As for Gail Kim, whilst she remains an integral part of IMPACT, she has not wrestled since Rebellion 2019, with her full-time in-ring career having ended in late 2017.
