Grizzled Young Veterans Yet To Receive WWE Releases

Grizzled Young Veterans were on NXT Level Up

It appears two WWE NXT talents have not been released by the company.

Ahead of a live edition of NXT on Tuesday night, WWE taped the April 7 episode of NXT Level Up. The Schism's Joe Gacy was in action at the taping, defeating Oro Mensah, but it was who accompanied Gacy to the ring that was of more interest.

Along with Ava, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid of The Dyad were also at ringside for The Schism leader's match on Level Up and they celebrated with Gacy after his win. Fowler and Reid appearing on Level Up suggests they have yet to be released by WWE, contrary to recent reports.

It emerged on Monday, April 3 that Fowler and Reid had asked to be released by WWE and it was later noted the tag team had been granted that request. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio on April 4 that Fowler and Reid may not be gone from WWE just yet and that is indeed the case.

If WWE are planning to release The Dyad is currently unknown.

The tag team have been a part of WWE for the past several years and they initially reached prominence in the company as Zack Gibson and James Drake of Grizzled Young Veterans, having one reign as the NXT UK Tag Team Champions. GYV moved to NXT full-time in late 2020 and they established themselves as one of the top acts in the tag team division in 2021, although they never captured the NXT Tag Team Championships.

GYV were repackaged as The Dyad in 2022.
