Tony Khan announced during the post-Dynasty media scrum that he made "many changes" to the pay-per-view in recent weeks due to Kyle Fletcher and Toni Storm not being able to work the show.
"Also, 'Timeless' Toni Storm, and I made many changes to this pay-per-view over the last few weeks. They were to both been a big part of it. They're both a huge part of AEW. Any time I can have Kyle Fletcher, The Protostar, or 'Timeless' Toni Storm involved in an AEW event, it's very important. So, coming out of Revolution, I expected them each to be in matches on the show," Khan said.
Kyle Fletcher suffered a suspected meniscus injury that will keep him on the shelf for some time on the March 28 episode of AEW Collision when his knee struck tag team partner Mark Davis' back during a match with The Rascalz.
The TNT Title was vacated as a result of Fletcher's injury, with Kevin Knight winning a Casino Gauntlet at Dynasty to become the new TNT Champion. Fightful Select has reported that a number of talents who weren't originally scheduled for Dynasty ended up being added to the pay-per-view because of Fletcher's injury.
Fletcher wasn't scheduled to defend the TNT Championship at Dynasty, but he was planned to team with Konosuke Takeshita against the Young Bucks. Kazuchika Okada was originally going to defend the AEW International Title, but Okada and Takeshita ended up teaming together in a loss to Matt and Nick Jackson.
Toni Storm has been out of action since she was written off AEW programming 10 minutes before the post-Revolution episode of Dynamite in mid-March. She is not expected to wrestle again in 2026, but her absence is unrelated to an injury.
What exactly Storm would have been doing at AEW Dynasty is unknown, but she was planned to defeat Marina Shafir in a No Holds Barred Match on the post-Revolution edition of Dynamite to build momentum for a programme with Thekla over the AEW Women's World Championship.
