Nikki Bella Being Ready For WWE WrestleMania 42 Considered 'Too Close To Call'

Nikki Bella may not recover from her injury in time for WrestleMania 42.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Bella's status for WrestleMania 42 is "too close to call." Nikki is scheduled to team with her twin sister Brie Bella in the four-way for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles that also features Nia Jax & Lash Legend, Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.

Nikki Bella suffered an ankle injury on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown after rolling her ankle early in the Bella Twins' match against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Bella revealed to Angie Martinez that she sustained a high ankle sprain.

Nikki Bella's injury has reportedly caused other issues for the WrestleMania 42 card, with reports noting that the announcement of IYO SKY vs. Asuka has been delayed while WWE waits to see if Nikki will be able to work WrestleMania. Should the Bella Twins be out of the WrestleMania match, the Kabuki Warriors are reportedly the planned replacement, and SKY vs. Asuka may be pushed back to Backlash.

Nikki Bella has been back with WWE on a mostly full-time basis since Royal Rumble 2025. She reunited with Brie to reform the Bella Twins at Royal Rumble 2026.
