WWE have announced that the legendary bout between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as an ‘Immortal Moment’.

One of the most famous matches in WWE history, the WWF Championship clash between Hogan and Andre drew over 78,000 fans (or 100,00 depending on who you believe) to Michigan’s Silverdome in 1987, with Hogan’s slam on Andre one of the iconic images of the 80s ‘rock and wrestling’ boom.

Hogan vs. Andre will be the second match inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, following the 2025 induction of the legendary WrestleMania 13 submission match between Bret Hart and Steve Austin. WWE could have easily chosen another match from WrestleMania III to receive the honour, with the show also playing host to Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat, a match regarded by many as one of the greatest of the 1980s, and one of the greatest bouts in WrestleMania history.

The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame is set to welcome AJ Styles, Demolition, Stephanie McMahon, Denis Rodman, Hogan vs. Andre, Sycho Sid, and Bad News Brown - the latter two as part of the legacy wing of the HOF.
