What happened to Eric Young in 2022? IMPACT have revealed all
IMPACT are not afraid to write wrestlers off in extreme ways, and when Eric Young was poised to leave the company in late 2022 they made the decision to have the Violent Design leader ‘killed off’ after being stabbed by former pupil Cody Deaner in December.
Fast forward to Summer 2023 and Young made his return to IMPACT, teaming with Scott D’Amore at Slammiversary on July 15, but the question remained; how did EY come back from the dead?
On the August 3 edition of IMPACT Wrestling we finally found out what happened to Young. In unaired footage from the stabbing incident, Young was shown to cough up blood then crawl away to his motorcycle, before riding off into the unknown. A voiceover played over the top claiming that Eric Young was an ‘unkillable idea’ that can live forever, and that he’d lived a thousand lives in wrestling and would live a thousand more if he had it his way.
Young is not the only character to have been seemingly killed off on IMPACT Wrestling TV before returning from the dead, with Mickie James pushed in front of a train in 2015, before eventually returning to the company in 2021, completely unscathed.
