IMPACT Wrestling Star Joe Doering Stepping Away To Battle Brain Cancer For Second Time

Best wishes to Doering, who was initially diagnosed with the disease in 2016

IMPACT Wrestling have announced that Joe Doering will be stepping away from active competition, as he battles brain cancer for the second time.

In a statement, IMPACT said that Doering informed them at last weekend's taping in Dallas, Texas, that the disease had returned. Doering had previously been diagnosed with the disease in 2016 and subsequently underwent successful surgery, radiation and chemotherapy treatment.

IMPACT's statement noted that the former two-time IMPACT Tag Team Champion would be undergoing surgery in the coming weeks.

Doctors advised him when he was diagnosed in 2016 that he may never wrestle again and, following his recovery, to remain vigilante as the disease could always return.

Doering said that he will endeavour to stay positive and return when he is healthy. The Violent By Design member added this message for his fans and colleagues:

"Please keep me in your thoughts and spirits. I hope to get back in the ring again very soon. To the IMPACT Wrestling locker room: you are family to me and I look forward to seeing you again very, very soon"

On behalf of everyone at Cultaholic, we would like to extend our best wishes to Joe Doering.
