Interim AEW World Title Match Set For Quake By The Lake

A big Interim AEW World Title clash

A major match has been booked for All Elite Wrestling's special 'Quake By The Lake' episode of Dynamite on August 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

It was revealed on Wednesday's episode of Dynamite that Jon Moxley will defend the Interim AEW World Championship against Chris Jericho at the show.

The match came about after Moxley successfully defended the title against RUSH on Dynamite. Following the match, the Jericho Appreciation Society made their way to the stage and Chris Jericho challenged Moxley to the title match. A back-and-forth then ensued before the Interim AEW World Champion accepted.

Moxley and Jericho have history in AEW stretching back to the promotion's inaugural show, Double Or Nothing 2019, and The Purveyor of Violence defeated Jericho at Revolution 2020 to win the AEW World Championship. They rekindled their hostilities earlier this year due to Eddie Kingston's issues with the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Moxley has been Interim AEW World Champion since Forbidden Door on June 26. The interim title was created due to CM Punk's foot injury, although the Second City Saviour remains AEW World Champion. A unification match will be held when Punk returns.
