Jey Uso Reveals He Was Opposed To Sami Zayn Joining The Bloodline

Jey Uso on Sami Zayn in The Bloodline

Jey Uso's opposition to Sami Zayn joining The Bloodline didn't just play out on-screen and the former Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion revealed to Ariel Helwani of BT Sport that he questioned why Zayn was added to the faction.

The Usos had the following exchange with Helwani:

Jey: "I was all against that. I was like, 'Him?'

Jimmy: "It's the Bloodline, what are we doing here?

Jey: "Him? This is the one we're going to let in the circle?

Jimmy: "It worked.

Jey: "I was wrong. He's low-key funny. Very witty, very smart.

Jimmy: "We were cool with Sami way before this.

Jey: "I just imagined him walking out with us, and when he walked out with us, it fit weirdly.

Jey: "All that breaking character, all that was real. It's live. I almost started thinking, 'You're unprofessional.'

Jimmy: "I would say that to him.

Jey: "I was like, 'You need to tighten up.'

Jimmy: "Be a professional out there."

Sami Zayn ingratiated himself to Roman Reigns in the weeks and months after 2022's WrestleMania 38 to the point that he became a regular with The Bloodline and an honorary Uso. Zayn proved his loyalty to the faction at Survivor Series 2022 but Reigns became distrustful of Zayn and his popularity with Sami eventually turning on The Bloodline at Royal Rumble 2023 to save Kevin Owens.

The Bloodline has only continued to crumble since then and The Usos won the Bloodline Civil War at Money in the Bank on July 1, a match which ended with Roman Reigns being pinned for the first time since December 2019.
