Joe Koff: ROH Never Used The Words "Shutting Down”

Koff insists ROH's hiatus is temporary

The future of Ring of Honor is still somewhat of a mystery, despite practically everyone writing off the cult indie promotion as finished following Final Battle 2021, going into their self imposed Q1 2022 hiatus.

However, reports of ROH’s demise are seemingly exaggerated, with ROH COO Joe Koff reiterating that the hiatus is simply a break.

Speaking to ROH’s Kevin Eck on the ROH Strong podcast, Koff stated the following:

“What seeped into the narrative… is that we were shutting down, when all we announced is that we were not doing any live events in the first quarter. We never used the words ‘shutting down.’”

Despite Koff’s declaration, many still see this as the end of Ring of Honor, in some way shape or form anyway, with big stars like Jay Lethal and Brody King signed to AEW (the latter strongly rumoured anyway) whilst ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes are taking the belts on the road, and ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham sets up his TERMINUS programme.
