John Cena Hoping To Be Back In WWE Soon

2022 is the 20th anniversary of John Cena's WWE TV debut

June 2022 sees the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s WWE TV debut, with the WWE icon making his bow on  the 150th episode of SmackDown on June 25 2002.

Whilst Cena now spends most of his time in Hollywood he has always kept wrestling close to his heart, reflecting on his WWE debut with Adam’s Apple:

"I know in WWE years I turn 20 pretty soon, so that's a pretty big thing," Cena said. "And from a pretty storied class of folks: Batista, Randy Orton, Brock [Lesnar] who kind of all turned 20 this year. I'm aware that that's coming around the corner and who knows?"

However, despite Cena’s love for WWE as strong as it ever was, his schedule means that a return isn’t straightforward or guaranteed:

"There's a lot of cool stuff going on and I don't want to say no to any of these opportunities that are on my doorstep. So, I don't know when I'll be back but hopefully it's soon. I've been gone for too long," Cena continued.

Since January 2019 Cena has only wrestled four televised matches, with his most recent match being a defeat at the hands of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021.
