John Cena Reveals Post-WWE Retirement Plans

Don't expect to see John Cena back in the jorts after 2025

John Cena shocked the professional wrestling world at Money In The Bank last night when he announced the plans for his 2025 retirement tour, which will see him compete throughout the year from January to December, with a tentative 40-50 dates planned.

Although there is a big ‘never-say-never’ attitude when it comes to WWE, Cena doubled down on his retirement plans during the post-show press conference, revealing that after retiring he will no longer be physical in any capacity in WWE, and will instead take up the role of fan and advocate.

“What’s next? I don’t know. What’s now? I’m in the middle of filming Peacemaker season two. They gave me a weekend off to come and have some fun. And yes, the jorts will be retired. Man, just when they were coming back into fashion, too. [laughs] I do want to make it perfectly clear that when I say I’m done competing, I’m done. The uniform will be retired, you will see me in a suit and tie. I have no intention on being physical in any way. No guest refereeing, no falling through an accidental table. None of that stuff. I will be a fan and an advocate, and that’s it.”

Cena is planned for the first RAW on Netflix, Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41 so far.
