John Cena Scheduled To Appear On Next Friday's WWE SmackDown

His Universal title match looms large

John Cena is scheduled to be a part of next Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown, taking place just eight nights prior to his Universal title match with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

Though Cena did not appear on last night's SmackDown, he did take part in the post-show dark match, teaming with Rey and Dominik Mysterio in a win over Reigns and The Usos.

Cena became the number one contender for Reigns' title on last Friday night's SmackDown, simply by signing a contract originally intended for Finn Balor. Balor was jumped by Baron Corbin before he could actually sign the deal. When Corbin himself tried to sign his way into the match, Cena took him out, and then signed the paper himself.

Balor addressed the situation on last night's SmackDown, saying that after he's done with Corbin, he has business to take care of with Cena.

Balor broached the subject once more after defeating Corbin in SmackDown's main event. After stating he was willing to go through Cena to earn a shot at the Universal title, Balor was then attacked by the Usos and Reigns.
