Johnny Gargano has opened up on his interactions with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, saying the boss has always been 'very supportive' of both him as an individual and NXT as a roster.

McMahon's perception of the black-and-gold brand has been scrutinised relentlessly by WWE fans amidst a number of talent from NXT failing to fulfil their potential on the WWE main roster. The likes of Aleister Black, Shinsuke Nakamura and Finn Balor, among others, did not receive the treatment on either Raw or SmackDown that loyal NXT fans had hoped they would.

Despite this, Gargano passionately believes the future of WWE and wrestling in general can be found in NXT, and believes the WWE Chairman knows that.

Speaking to TV Insider, Gargano said: "I can’t speak for him, but my limited interactions with him have all been positive. He has always been very supportive of me and NXT.

"As far as that is concerned, I hope he would realise NXT and the people we have are immensely talented. I think the future of his company, and wrestling in general, is in NXT and in that building. I think there are tons of talented guys and girls in that Performance Center just waiting for that opportunity."
