Jon Moxley & CM Punk Team Together On AEW Dynamite

Moxley and Punk shared the ring for the first time since 2014

Despite beating CM Punk in Chicago, MJF just wouldn’t let sleeping dogs lie, taking to the ring during last night’s edition of AEW: Dynamite and goading ‘The Second City Saint’ with his over-the-top celebrations.

Punk eventually made his presence felt, flanked by Sting and Darby Allin, and after trying to convince Wardlow to leave The Pinnacle, instead challenged MJF and FTR to a rematch of their six-man tag match at Holiday Bash 2021.

MJF refused to wrestle, but said if Punk could defeat FTR with a partner of his choosing - but not Sting or Darby - then he’d consider giving him a rematch. Punk took to Twitter to ask Danhausen and Samoa Joe if they were available, but eventually, made his way to the ring with Jon Moxley by his side.

To the surprise of nobody, Punk, Moxley, and FTR put on a fantastic tag team match, with both teams going back-and-forth and coming close to victory after several near falls, with Punk and Mox hitting a pitch perfect Doomsday Device at one point, whilst FTR delivered a nasty double backdrop through the timekeeper's table on Mox. Eventually, Tully Blanchard tried to get involved on FTR’s behalf but ate a GTS from Punk, before Punk and Moxley hit a stereo GTS/Paradigm Shift  on Cash and Dax for the win, and it seems like we’ll get Punk/MJF II down the road.
