Jon Moxley Challenges Nick Gage To Title Vs. Career Match At GCW Homecoming

There's a whole lot on the line

GCW World champion Jon Moxley's next title defense will come against a familiar foe, with said foe's career on the line.

After Moxley defeated Effy to retain his title at GCW Homecoming on Saturday night in Atlantic City, the champion was confronted by Nick Gage, who said he wanted another shot at the GCW title. Moxley said the only way Gage would get a shot would be if he put his career on the line. Gage accepted.

The date for the Moxley vs. Gage match has not yet been set.

The two met on October 9 of last year, with Moxley retaining the GCW World title after a 19 minute battle. Moxley and Gage have previously met in other organizations dating back to the 2000s, in particular CZW.

The 41-year-old Gage has only wrestled five times in 2022, his most recent match being a four-minute bout at an independent card in New York on May 15.

Moxley (the interim AEW World champion as well) has reigned as GCW World champion since September 4, 2021, when he defeated Matt Cardona to win the title.
