TNA and WWE NXT’s relationship is in full swing, with stars from both sides ‘crossing the line’ into rival territory. But one name that hasn’t is Josh Alexander.

The former TNA World Champion is soon set to depart the company with the expiration of his deal, with many assuming the ‘Walking Weapon’ will sign with WWE or AEW. During a recent appearance on Straight Talk Wrestling, Alexander revealed how he was set to appear for NXT in 2024, but plans changed:

"I will say that there was one certain situation where I was supposed to go, and it did not happen. There were maybe two other situations where I was asked to go, and it got shut down for whatever reason that was. No hard feelings on my end. I have options on the table, so there are no hard feelings or nothing like that. There were definitely plenty of stories that could have been told, whether it was The North reunited for one night only or if I went one-on-one with Ethan Page in some capacity, just because of all the history we have together. There was a lot of stuff thrown at me at certain times. Whether it's true or false, it just didn't materialise for whatever reason. The timing wasn't there for it," Alexander said.

Alexander ‘quit’ TNA after losing an I Quit match to rival Mike Santana at Genesis on January 19, and he finished up with the promotion at the January 24 TV tapings. His TNA contract is reportedly set to expire on February 15.
