Kayla Braxton Rules Out Joining AEW

Don't expect Kayla Braxton to be a part of All Elite Wrestling. 

Reports noted on Monday that Braxton had held talks with AEW but Braxton ruled out joining the promotion on X, tweeting: "The support from u guys has been overwhelming. I am so thankful for u. But I did wanna make 1 thing clear as I enter my final week in WWE: if I wanted to keep working in wrestling, I wouldn't be walking away from the largest wrestling company in the world. Nice try, rumor weeds."

Braxton announced over the weekend that she would be parting ways with WWE following the June 28 episode of Friday Night SmackDown at Madison Square Garden. Braxton's deal with WWE recently expired and she remained with the company under a verbal agreement. 

Braxton had been signed with WWE since 2016, working in a number of roles, including host of The Bump and backstage interviewer. Reports have noted that Braxton could "see the writing on the wall" for her time with WWE as the company positioned Cathy Kelley and Jackie Redmond as the top two backstage interviewers. 

Braxton's future plans are unknown beyond that she has been offered opportunities on the West Coast of the United States.
