Kevin Fertig, otherwise known as Kevin Thorne and Mordecai, has revealed getting into a bar fight put an end to plans for him to feud with The Undertaker, in a rivalry that had been scheduled to include a match at WWE WrestleMania 21.

Fertig re-debuted on WWE SmackDown in 2004 as Mordecai - a relegious Zealot-type character - and subsequently defeated the likes of Hardcore Holly and Scotty 2 Hotty. However, by the summer, Mordecai has been defeated by Rey Mysterio and removed from television.

In reality, Fertig had been sent back to OVW due to his involvement in a bar fight, and the man behind the Mordecai character has admitted his actions that evening put an end to plans for him to work with Eddie Guerrero and The Undertaker - the latter of which would have culminated in a bout at WrestleMania 21.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's UnSKripted, Fertig said: ""I was supposed to go against The Undertaker [and] Eddie Guerrero. I was supposed to do a lot of stuff. But I ended up being an idiot and I got into a fight in a bar and it just didn't work out - just didn't work out that way, man. So, live and learn.

"Getting told you are about to go against The Undertaker and possibly main-event a WrestleMania match - I don't know if you have the, I guess, business sense [in one's late 20s]. You always say, 'Hey, if I could have, would have, should have back then...' Now at 45, if I could have known what I know now and done it then, it would have been a totally different ballgame."
