Kofi Kingston's post-WWE in-ring name appears to have been revealed.

Kofi filed multiple trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday, August 11, for his real-life name of Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah and the initials of the name in KSM. The names were trademarked for entertainment and merchandise purposes, including to be used for professional wrestling purposes, suggesting Kingston won't simply be 'Kofi' outside of WWE.

It emerged in early May that The New Day of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods had been released by WWE. The parting of ways came after WWE asked the beloved tag team to take a pay cut, which was said to be more of an ultimatum, and The New Day instead asked to be let go. WWE asked The New Day to take a pay cut even though they had only signed new five-year deals in 2025.

While it has not been officially announced that The New Day are AEW-bound, the expectation is they will join All Elite Wrestling. There was heavy speculation following the August 12 edition of AEW Dynamite that The New Day will link up with Swerve Strickland, potentially in an AEW World Trios Championship match against Hangman Page and Brodido.

In addition to Kofi Kingston filing for new trademarks, Xavier Woods filed to trademark 'Austin Creed' with the USPTO. He has used the name for several years, including on the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel.
