Expected Winner Of WWE Luchadores Tournament To Face Roman Reigns Revealed

Fans won't be surprised by the wrestler tipped to win WWE's ongoing luchadores tournament to earn a World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns at the September 14 episode of Monday Night Raw in Mexico City.

According to WrestleVotes on Fightful Select, the feeling backstage in WWE is that Penta will be the winner of the luchadores tournament. A source within WWE noted they view the tournament "as a unique opportunity in the Mexican market, and they believe Penta is the correct choice to capitalise on that."

The first round of the luchadores tournament is currently underway and Penta defeated Laredo Kid on the August 10 edition of Monday Night Raw in the first match. The remaining first-round matches are Psycho Clown vs. La Parka on the August 15 edition of AAA TV, while Dragon Lee vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix vs. El Fiscal will be held on the August 17 Raw.

The second-round matches will be held on the August 24 edition of Raw before the final on the August 31 Raw.

Initial rumours suggested El Grande Americano might be the wrestler to win the tournament and face Roman Reigns, but Ludwig Kaiser ultimately didn't even end up being included in the round-robin tournament.
