Kris Statlander Returns At AEW Double Or Nothing, Wins TBS Championship

Jade Cargill's streak ends at 60 wins

Kris Statlander is the new AEW TBS Women's champion, after shattering the perfect record of Jade Cargill at Double or Nothing on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Cargill had just defeated Taya Valkyrie to go to 60-0 in her career. After the match, Cargill's manager Mark Sterling proclaimed that Cargill would defend her title anywhere, any time, but there was nobody there to ever answer the challenge.

Just then, Statlander's music hit, and she hit the ring wearing her wrestling attire. Cargill immediately squared up to accept, so referee Stephon Smith rang the bell to begin the title match.

After a brief match, Cargill tried to hit her Jaded finish, but Statlander broke free and hit her Friday Night Fever tombstone to win the title.

The win gives Statlander her first championship in AEW. She had not wrestled since August of last year, after tearing the ACL in her knee. At the time, Statlander was being set up as a likely challenger to Cargill.

Cargill's title reign ends at 508 days. She was the belt's only champion since winning it in a tournament final over Ruby Soho on January 5, 2022.
