Kurt Angle Loves Rey Mysterio So Much He Would 'Marry' Him

WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently discussed SummerSlam 2002 and, in particular, the opening match pitting him against Rey Mysterio, on a recent edition of the Kurt Angle Show podcast. 

As well as greatly enjoying their outing at the pay-per-view, the Olympic Hero was full of praise for his masked opponent. In fact, Kurt loves Rey so much that, if he could, he would marry him.:

"Rey [Mysterio] is such a great worker. I knew the match would be awesome. I wasn't that concerned about him, but I knew it was up to me to establish him. I was happy to do that. He's such a great wrestler, not only that, he's a great individual. He's one of my best friends, I absolutely loved Rey the day I met him, and I never fell out of love with him. I love the guy today. I would marry the dude. He's awesome," said Angle.

Angle and Mysterio clashed many times during the course of their career and Rey famously dethroned Kurt to win the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 22, with Mysterio getting the win by pinning Randy Orton in a triple threat match.

The two were supposed to wrestle one final time as part of Angle's 'farewell tour' prior to his 2019 retirement, but the bout was cancelled for unknown reasons.
