The Los Angeles Police Department are in the process of building a case against Raja Jackson and trying to determine the level of premeditation from Jackson when he attacked Syko Stu at a KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy event on Saturday, August 23, according to Douglas Malo, the wrestler who pulled Rampage Jackson's son away from Syko Stu.
After being asked on Scaling Up if he believes Raja Jackson will be arrested, Malo replied:
"There is not a doubt in my mind. Everything is on tape and on video. It is premeditated. LAPD tends to drag their feet. The detective asked me a bunch of questions. I even asked about my implications. He goes, 'There is nothing to worry about.' He was just trying to get compliance. Everything is towards Raja. He asked a couple of other questions about other videos and people in the back. Not for implication, just because he's trying to get information.
"He's building a solid case. I talked to a detective friend of mine outside of the case about formalities and what I should look at and what not to look at. He was saying this is how LAPD work, they drag their feet. They’re building their case to get all the evidence. The state is going to pick it up because there are so many people and witnesses. My little brother saw it. My girlfriend, my mom, all the people there. They have enough evidence to try the case.
"What they're trying to figure out is what level of premediation, from my understanding. They're trying to figure out what conversations took place, what conversations mean. He was asking me what specific terms mean exactly and what they mean to the person they are telling them to. It's so there. I don't want to speculate or say anything else. It's all there."
Following a backstage incident earlier in the evening in which Syko Stu hit Raja Jackson on the head with a beer can after believing he was a fellow pro wrestler, it was agreed that Raja Jackson would interfere in Stu's match at KnoxK Pro. Jackson was encouraged by AJ Mana to give Stu a receipt, however, and Raja became increasingly riled up ahead of the planned spot, even saying on his Kick stream that he planned to hit Stu as hard as he could until he was pulled away.
This led to Raja Jackson slamming Stu to the mat during the interference spot, knocking Stu unconscious. Jackson then mounted Stu and punched him 21 times. Stu was hospitalised for a week due to the serious injuries he suffered.
KnoxK Pro management encouraged talents not to cooperate with the police investigation until they had spoken to the promotion first.
Rampage Jackson has issued multiple statements on the incident, and now he has called for the police to investigate Syko Stu's actions.
"The police should investigate that sh*t, why it took his friends so long to get in that f*cking ring…He [Raja Jackson] should have never even been there. But I'm gonna tell you this, I'm gonna leave you with this, and this is going to be the last time I talk about this sh*t. This ain't the first time Syko Stu has done some sh*t like this backstage. Motherf*cker be drinking all the goddamn time. And he plays that pro wrestling saved me from this PTSD, so like nobody wants to fire his ass," Rampage Jackson said on the Ariel Helwani Show.
"But AJ Mana told me everything, this ain't the first time he's done some drunken sh*t like this backstage. So they know his act, but they ain't gonna snitch on him. None of them know loyalty…Police need to investigate that sh*t, how many times Syko Stu attacked somebody backstage and p*ssed people off being drunk and sh*t. Then you guys can figure out what took so long for them pro wrestlers to get in that f*cking ring and pull my son off him. Investigate that sh*t."
Following the incident, WWE dropped KnokX Pro from the WWE ID programme. A number of students have also quit the promotion, and Rikishi is allegedly planning to overhaul the company.
