Cody Rhodes' likely opponent at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event has been revealed.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes' plans for the show are not 100 per cent but it looks like Cody Rhodes will go one-on-one with Kevin Owens at the special.

Owens and Rhodes faced off for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Bash in Berlin earlier this year. KO has since turned on Cody, though, and he laid out Rhodes outside of his tour bus following Bad Blood.

WWE are planning to present Saturday Night's Main Event with a pay-per-view-calibre card. The show will take place on December 14 and emanate from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

WWE are reviving Saturday Night's Main Event as part of the new domestic media rights deal with NBCUniversal that brought SmackDown back to USA Network.

Saturday Night's Main Event will air on NBC in the United States and be simulcast on Peacock.

Also planned for Saturday Night's Main Event is Jesse Ventura, who recently signed a Legends deal with WWE. Ventura was an announcer on the original episodes of Saturday Night's Main Event in the 1980s.
