Long-Absent AEW Talent Works First Match In 9 Months Ahead Of Dynamite

Absent AEW talent returns in dark match ahead of Dynamite

A long-absent talent for All Elite Wrestling had their first match for the promotion in almost a year.

According to PWInsider, EJ Nduka was in action in a dark match ahead of AEW Dynamite where he defeated Marcus Mathers. AEW taped the go-home edition of Dynamite from Buffalo, New York on Wednesday night.

Nduka has been signed with All Elite Wrestling since 2023, having impressed in a tryout match against Konosuke Takeshita in January of last year. Nduka has yet to appear on any AEW programming but he worked three dark matches at September and October 2023 tapings of Collision, defeating Jon Cruz and Deon Rusman.

Nduka is a former WWE developmental talent, having been signed to the company from August 2019 until his release in May 2021. Nduka headed to Major League Wrestling following his WWE exit and he held gold in the promotion as one-half of the MLW World Tag Team Champions with Calvin Tankman.

Nduka left MLW at the start of 2023 when his deal expired and there was interest from WWE in Nduka but that interest went quiet following the firing of Senior Vice President Of Talent Operations & Strategy James Kimball.

If AEW have any plans to book Nduka on TV is unknown.
