Lucha Underground Revival Under Consideration

The series could be making a comeback

The concept of Lucha Underground may not be dead after all.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there is "the beginning of talk" of reviving the series, which would be based around the same concept but with a different name.

The series previously aired for four seasons from October 2014 to November 2018 on the El Rey Network. The show featured several popular stars who have since made their way to All Elite Wrestling and WWE, including Brian Cage, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Ricochet, John Morrison and Rey Mysterio.

The show never received a proper ending and actually ended on a cliffhanger with Wade Barrett's debut as The Lord. Although elements from the show have since emerged in Major League Wrestling following the debut of Mil Muertes and the formation of Azteca Underground.

If a revival of the show manages to get off the ground ultimately remains to be seen but fans in the United States can still catch the series on Tubi.
