Major Stipulation Added To WWE King And Queen Of The Ring Finals

Major Stipulation added to WWE King and Queen of the Ring

WWE have added a major stipulation to the finals of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

The two tournaments are set to wrap up at the King and Queen of the Ring pay-per-view on Saturday, May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the major show, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has announced that the winners of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments will receive a shot at the world title on their respective brands at SummerSlam.

Triple H has ultimately called back to WWE's past with the stipulation as King of the Ring winners have previously earned a world title match at SummerSlam, such as 2002 King of the Ring winner Brock Lesnar challenging and defeating The Rock for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

The finals of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments will be determined on Friday's episode of SmackDown. Gunther will face the winner of Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga in the King of the Ring final, while Lyra Valkyria will face the winner of Bianca Belair vs. Nia Jax in the Queen of the Ring final.

WWE King and Queen of the Ring will begin at 1 pm ET/ 6 pm BST on Saturday, May 25.

SummerSlam will emanate from Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, August 3. Triple H did tease earlier this year that he had "big plans" for the pay-per-view.
