Major Update On CM Punk's WWE In-Ring Return

CM Punk at WWE Performance Center on Wednesday

CM Punk has often headed to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida since returning to the company in November of 2023, with the 45-year-old becoming a semi-regular at WWE NXT TV tapings. CM Punk was at the WWE Performance Center on Wednesday but he wasn't there to help train the organisation's developmental talents.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, CM Punk was in the ring at the Performance Center working to be cleared by WWE's medical team. If Punk was actually cleared for an in-ring return by WWE doctors is unknown as of the time of writing.

Punk has been out of action since January's Royal Rumble pay-per-view when he suffered a torn triceps following a Futureshock DDT from Drew McIntyre. Punk has continued to appear on WWE TV, very much tormenting Drew McIntyre as he repeatedly costs him the World Heavyweight Championship.

The plan within WWE is for Drew McIntyre and CM Punk to go one-on-one at SummerSlam on August 3 but the match wasn't 100 per cent as of a couple of weeks ago due to Punk needing to be cleared.
