Matt Cardona Confirms He Signed A Short-Term Deal With AEW

Strong Island Iced Z plans to stick around, though...

On last week's episode of Dynamite, former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) shockingly debuted in All Elite Wrestling and fended off John Silver and Alex Reynolds of Dark Order after they attacked Cody. He will make his in-ring debut in the young promotion tomorrow as he and The American Nightmare will team together against Silver and Reynolds.

Raj Giri at WrestlingInc. reported over the weekend that Strong Island Iced Z has only signed a per-appearance deal with AEW for an initial five dates. Cardona wants to stick around in Tony Khan's promotion after his short-term contract expires, however, as he recently told Rich Ucchino at Sportskeeda that he isn't "here for a little vacation."

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion said: "Yes so there's a couple appearances, a few appearances right now but listen... I'm not here for a little vacation. I'm here to win the TNT Title, the AEW Title, to get all those action figures! I'm here because I want to be here. You know what I'm saying? So we'll get there. Just stayed tuned. Everybody just take a chill pill and relax and enjoy the show!"
