Matt Cardona Open To Cinematic Match Against Zack Ryder

While the match would need to be heavily edited in post-production, Matt Cardona revealed to SportsKeeda that he would be open to a cinematic match against his WWE character Zack Ryder. 

"I would love to do it. It's a cinematic match. I don't have the skills to do that kind of editor job, if there's someone listening who knows how to do it, I would love to do it. I guess, technically, I couldn't use the Zack Ryder IP since I'm not in WWE, but I thought about doing something like that before. It'd be really, really fun. I have to shave my beard though," Cardona said.

Cardona was Zack Ryder for his 15-year WWE run from 2005 until 2020. He was a former tag team champion, Intercontinental Champion, and United States Champion during his time with the company. 

Following his release in 2020, Cardona started to use his real name inside the squared circle and he has established himself as one of the biggest stars on the independent wrestling scene, performing for the likes of GCW, NWA, and IMPACT Wrestling. 

Cardona hasn't ruled out a potential return to WWE but he revealed he would ensure he doesn't go back as Zack Ryder.
