Matt Cardona Shuts Down WWE Return As Zack Ryder
Looks like the ‘Original Broski’ Zack Ryder won’t be returning to WWE
It's fair to say that Triple H is on somewhat of a signing spree in bringing multiple former WWE stars back into the fold, with Emma being the latest former name to re-emerge in a WWE ring.
Recent reports suggested that Chelsea Green could be on her way back to the company after seemingly finishing up with IMPACT, with fans therefore wondering if Green’s husband Matt Cardona could also return, and take up the Zack Ryder mantle once again.
A Twitter user pondered this question, to which Cardona bluntly replied:
“Zack Ryder is dead. Long live Matt Cardona!”
Whilst that rules out a Zack Ryder return, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Cardona won’t show up under his actual name, although again, nothing has been said of a Cardona WWE return outside of mere speculation.
Since his WWE release in 2020, Cardona has reinvented himself on the independent scene, becoming one of the biggest stars on the scene due to his run as GCW World Champion in 2021. Alongside GCW, Cardona is a fixture in IMPACT and the NWA, where he is a former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion in the latter.
