Matt Hardy On Tessa Blanchard's TNA Return: As A Society We Need To Give Second Chances
Matt Hardy commented on Tessa Blanchard's controversial TNA comeback
Dec 21, 2024
Tessa Blanchard’s recent return to TNA Wrestling at Final Resolution 2024 brought with it a wave of controversy given her turbulent history in the professional wrestling business, being fired from TNA previously and accused with both racism and bullying by fellow wrestlers.
TNA were reportedly anticipating a visceral response, which was why they kept this comeback under wraps for as long as they could leading up to the event. The reaction to her comeback has been divisive amongst both fans and those inside the business, with conflicting opinions on whether she deserves another chance. One half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Matt Hardy, commented on Blanchard’s return on his Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast.
“There were a few people that I was sitting in the room with. They’re like, ‘Oh, man. She was here at one time and she didn’t do things right’, or whatever else. One thing I have heard is that everyone that she was going to be working with, they were given the heads up, and they knew that was gonna be happening. But also, apparently, they’ve been following her pretty closely and just seeing how she’s been as a performer, and how professional she’s been, and whatnot. It seems so far so good.”
Hardy noted that Blanchard has made herself available to speak to anyone who had an issue with her return, and Hardy commended her on that professionalism. He also stated that if he hadn’t been afforded second chances then he would’ve had no hope at succeeding. It was reported over the last week that WWE were interested in working with Blanchard.
