Mercedes Moné Vs. Harley Cameron Added To AEW Grand Slam: Australia

AEW is heading to Brisbane, Australia next week for the AEW Grand Slam: Australia event, which will be taking the usual spot of AEW Collision on Saturday, February 15 at the Brisbane Entertainment Center. Another new match has been officially added to the card.

It has been in the works for several weeks, but a TBS Championship match between reigning champion Mercedes Moné and Harley Cameron has finally been made official. Cameron has eyed up a match in her home country of Australia, only to be rejected and looked down on by Moné, who refused to fight someone who hadn’t won a match. This prompted Cameron to go and finally win her first match, picking up a win over Taya Valkyrie to build some momentum. 

On last night’s episode of AEW Collision in Rosenberg, Texas, Cameron decided it was the right time to host a mini concert for the TBS Champion. Cameron was soon cut off by Moné, only for Cameron to demand a title shot and state that she wasn’t leaving the ring until her challenge was accepted, also throwing shade at the fact that the puppet she held of Moné on Dynamite was the most entertaining she’d ever been. 

Moné slapped Cameron, sparking a brawl. This led to Moné finally accepting the match for Australia. It was also announced on social media that The Learning Tree would be in action at the show. 

The updated line-up for AEW Grand Slam: Australia is as follows:

• Mariah May (c) vs. Toni Storm - AEW Women’s World Championship
• Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Kyle Fletcher 
• Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Cope & Jay White - Brisbane Brawl
• Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Harley Cameron - TBS Championship
• Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Buddy Matthews - Continental Championship 
• The Learning Tree vs. TBA
