Mercedes Moné Reveals She Felt Like 'Steve Austin' During AEW Debut

AEW's fans made Mercedes Mone feel like Steve Austin at Big Business

Mercedes Moné made a big splash at AEW Dynamite: Big Business, making her official AEW debut and revealing her signature with the company. She was greeted by a big pop two times in one night, first when she made her debut and second when she emerged later in the night to save Willow Nightingale from an attack by TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue.

Speaking to Variety, Moné revealed that the Boston crowd made her feel like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

“It was unbelievable. I still haven’t gotten to take everything in yet, but my heart was just pounding out of my chest. Once I heard the beat drop in the music and the ‘CEO’ chants were on the screens, and then they revealed the ‘Mercedes Moné’ name, that eruption was so electric. I felt so cool. I felt like Stone Cold Steve Austin, when fans just lift up all their signs and stand up with their arms raised. I felt so cool. It was the best feeling in the world.”

Moné’s deal with AEW is said to be one of the biggest for a women’s wrestler in history, with AEW reportedly outbidding WWE to ensure that she became “All Elite”.
