Mick Foley Thinks Fans Will Take Out Their Frustration On Cody Rhodes If Sami Zayn Vs. Roman Reigns Is A One-Off

Mick Foley thinks the fans could turn on Cody Rhodes due to their love of Sami Zayn

How do you solve a problem like Sami Zayn?

WWE have accidentally ended up with gold in their hands due to the Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns storyline, with Zayn’s attack on Reigns at Royal Rumble 2023 eliciting one of the biggest reactions in recent memory.

Zayn and Reigns are set to battle for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber in Montreal, with the belief being that Reigns will retain and face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.

However, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley believes the WWE fans could turn on Rhodes due to their support of Zayn, saying the following on Foley is Pod:

"I would think so, man," said Foley when asked if Zayn’s reception in Montreal will be one of the loudest in WWE history "This is where the storytelling - the storytelling has been so strong. WWE has to be really careful in how they treat what they have in Sami Zayn. So if it's a one-off, I think fans will be upset and subconsciously take that out on Cody. So I think it's really important that Sami be treated reverently by the people in charge. Because, you know, we call him 'The gift that keeps on giving.' We want him to just keep on giving. You don't want this title shot to be the peak of his storyline and then soon forgotten."
