Mickie James Announces NWA Women’s Invitational Tournament

The NWA is seeking fresh talent for its revamped women’s roster

The NWA is giving serious airtime to it’s women’s division, pinpointed by the upcoming all-women’s Empowerrr PPV, the work of NWA Women’s World Champion Kamille, and the promotional tactics of Mickie James.

Speaking of the latter, James recently took part in a press conference hyping up Empowerr on August 28 and NWA 73 the following night, and announced the inaugural NWA Women’s invitational Tournament.

The tournament is a first for NWA, with James saying the organisation is seeking "the top women in the industry, the up-and-coming women, the rising talent that we see as the future prospects of the women in the industry.”

James added that the tournament will be an annual affair for the NWA, before revealing Tootie Lynn as the first participant.

The tournament winner will face whomever is holding the NWA Women’s World Championship belt at NWA 73, with current champion Kamille expected to put the title on the line at Empowerrr the night before.
