Mickie James Would Book The Rock To Main Event WWE WrestleMania 40 Over Cody Rhodes
Mickie James wants to see The Rock headline WWE WrestleMania 40 not Cody Rhodes
Just when it looked safe for Cody Rhodes to ‘finish the story’ at WrestleMania than none other than The Rock made his return to WWE, with ‘The Great One’ hinting that he may finally challenge his cousin Roman Reigns to a match.
A match between Rock and Reigns would be worthy of any WrestleMania headline slot, and on Busted Open Radio WWE legend Mickie James agreed that Rock vs. Roman should headline WrestleMania XL:
"You know, I love Cody [Rhodes], he's my friend, he's my brother, and I'm excited to see him shine," said James. "He's freaking killing [it], but if I'm going to - if I have the option to see, if I had the opportunity to watch Roman [Reigns] and Cody again at WrestleMania or Roman and Rock for the first time ever at WrestleMania, you best believe I'm looking for Roman and Rock. The Rock has carte blanche, in my opinion, in the wrestling business to walk out on any stage to call his shot."
Rhodes took on Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39, but ‘The Tribal Chief’ scored something of an upset when he defeated Rhodes to successfully retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Rhodes has since said he isn’t ‘flinching’ over the prospect of losing his main event spot.
