MJF Believed To Have Signed New Multi-Year AEW Deal

Maybe there'll be no 'bidding war of 2024' between WWE and AEW after all.

According to a report by Haus Of Wrestling, MJF is believed to have quietly signed a new AEW deal.

The current AEW World Champion - who retained the title against Jay White at last weekend's Full Gear - has often mentioned "the bidding war of 2024", implying that both WWE and AEW will be fighting for his services when his contract expires next year. However, Haus Of Wrestling's report states:

"Haus of Wrestling has heard from several WWE sources who believe Friedman has quietly re-signed with AEW. One higher-up WWE source stated that there have been 'zero talks' between the two sides. They further noted that the idea Friedman is set to enter free agency imminently is a 'false narrative' and that they believe he has re-signed into 2027."

MJF recently defeated Kenny Omega to secure his status as the longest-reigning AEW World Champion in company history, a reign which has now passed 365 days in length. There has been no official confirmation as to who his next challenger will be, although reports have suggested MJF will take on Samoa Joe at Worlds End on December 30

Friedman is currently dealing with multiple injuries but he is expected to be cleared for in-ring action in time for the Long Island pay-per-view.
