MJF Expected To Be Off TV 'For A While' Following AEW Worlds End

MJF reportedly gone from AEW TV

After dropping the AEW World Championship to Samoa Joe in the main event of Worlds End on December 30, MJF won't be back for some time.

According to Fightful Select, the expectation following Worlds End within All Elite Wrestling is MJF will be "off TV for a while immediately, if not almost immediately." Maxwell Jacob Friedman sustained a "plethora of injuries" during his reign as AEW World Champion but he was adamant about completing his time with the belt.

MJF was known to be hurting badly heading into Worlds End due to a shoulder injury. The pay-per-view in Long Island, New York ended with MJF dropping the AEW World Title to Samoa Joe. Adam Cole was then revealed to be The Devil with Wardlow, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett as his minions and they beat down MJF to close out the event.

MJF taking time off could play into the 'Bidding War of 2024' but reports have previously indicated that MJF is believed to have already re-signed with All Elite Wrestling, possibly as far back as 2022. Fightful Select reported that WWE sources have claimed they have not spoken to MJF and most in AEW believe he re-signed over a year ago.
