MJF Wins AEW International Title In 59-Minute Match On Dynamite

MJF defeats Will Ospreay for AEW International Title on Dynamite after 59-minute match

MJF is a champion once more, with the ‘generational talent’ defeating Will Ospreay for the International Title after a 59-minute match on All Elite Wrestling Dynamite 250 on July 17.

One minute away from the bout going to a time-limit draw, MJF spotted an opening after the referee was knocked down, clocking Ospreay with the Dynamite Diamond Ring and covering for the win with only two seconds left on the clock. The new champ required gas and air after his victory, reminiscent of his Iron Man Match with Bryan Danielson at Revolution 2023.

The match was in Ospreay’s hands as the timer counted down, but the ‘Aerial Assassin’s hesitance to use the Tiger Driver ’91 allowed MJF to regroup and send Ospreay crashing into the referee. It remains to be seen if Ospreay will be seeking a rematch for the title, with a certain All In Wembley Stadium show just around the corner surely a tantalising prospect.

MJF took the win in his stride - in-ring recovery done and dusted - paraphrasing John Cena when gloating about his victory on X/Twitter:

“Will Ospreay’s title reign has been caught and compromised to a permanent end. America has a real champion now. Easy W. #ThankMeLater”
