More Details Around WWE Raw Triple Threat Match Main Event Reportedly Emerge

A huge bout that main-evented this week's Raw

The decision to run with a Triple Threat Match between Roman Reigns, Big E and Bobby Lashley in the main event of this week's WWE Monday Night Raw was reportedly made the afternoon of the show.

The September 20 episode of Raw centred around an appearance from SmackDown's Universal Champion Reigns and The Bloodline, who defeated The New Day in tag-team action.

Later in the night, after Bobby Lashley's interference in the tag team bout, The Tribal Chief then beat WWE Champion Big E and The All Mighty in a huge Triple Threat Match.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the decision to put the big match between the trio on Raw was made the afternoon of the show by Vince McMahon, who had got word that the bouts between Reigns, Lashley and Big E on WWE house shows over the weekend had been very good.

The Universal Champion, WWE Champion and former WWE Champion had faced each other in Triple Threat Matches in North Charleston, South Carolina, and Augusta, Georgia, and received raving reviews, leading to McMahon signing off on the match for Raw in a bid to achieve the strongest rating possible.

The late decision to run the match on Raw meant there was no time to pre-advertise the match. WWE instead put the six-man tag-team match on first, in order to give as much time as possible to advertise the Triple Threat as the main event.
