More Details On Andrade's WWE Release Reportedly Emerge

The news was confirmed after WWE Fastlane 2021

WWE confirmed the release of Andrade from his contract on Sunday evening following Fastlane 2021.

The Mexican star had reportedly requested to be allowed to leave the company ten days ago but initially had his wish denied by the promotion. The situation appears to have changed, however, with the 31-year-old let go by WWE.

Fightful Select is reporting that their sources in WWE were 'surprised' to hear that Andrade would be allowed to leave, after they had been told earlier in the week his request for release would not be immediately granted. It therefore seems there was a 'change of heart' from upper WWE management towards the situation.

Andrade has a 90-day non-compete clause attached to the deal, which means he will not sign for or wrestle in another promotion until June 20, 2021 at the absolute earliest. He will, however, be able to use the name 'Andrade' in other companies, because it forms part of his actual, real-life names.

Andrade was last seen on WWE television in October, in a quick loss to former tag-team partner Angel Garza. The former NXT Champion appears relieved to be released, having taken to social media prior to the news being confirmed to post the words 'good news'.
