Mustafa Ali's NJPW Debut Announced

Mustafa Ali issued out a challenge during NJPW Battle In The Valley 2024

Mustafa Ali has been making the rounds ever since leaving WWE, getting booked in many different promotions such as GCW, Prestige, DEFY, and several more amidst his “world tour”. He isn’t stopping with just independent shows though, as he made his presence known last night in New Japan Pro Wrestling for the first time ever.

A video package aired during last night’s Battle In The Valley 2024 event in which Mustafa Ali appeared on a podium to reveal that his ongoing campaign was bringing him to NJPW and he issued out a challenge to the current IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Hiromu Takahashi. He made the challenge for the upcoming NJPW Windy City Riot event in Chicago on April 12. This of course takes place in Ali’s hometown of Chicago, so it will see him with the hometown advantage.

Shortly following this promo, NJPW made the match official on their social media channels. This will mark Ali’s debut match with NJPW, unless of course he wrestles between now and April. Ali left WWE in September 2023, receiving his longed-after release from the company.
