Although he has hardly been on WWE programming in over a year, MVP remains signed with the company "as of now", according to Fightful Select.

MVP has been partnered with Omos since the Raw after WrestleMania 38 in 2022, having turned on Bobby Lashley in the process. Omos' booking has been sporadic, especially with Triple H as WWE Chief Content Officer, and the 'Nigerian Giant' hasn't had a match on WWE TV that wasn't a battle royal since he lost to Seth Rollins at Backlash in May 2023.

This ultimately has kept MVP away from WWE TV too, although the former United States Champion revealed that there had been pitches for the Hurt Business to reunite within WWE from the former faction members but any plan had been rejected by Triple H. As of early June, MVP had travelled to Cancun, Mexico to undergo stem cell treatment. Omos, meanwhile, has been ranking his top 10 summer fragrances.

MVP is in his second run with WWE, having returned to the company on a full-time basis in 2020. His partnership with Bobby Lashley and the Hurt Business were some of the highlights of the COVID era of WWE TV.

MVP hasn't wrestled since a July 2022 episode of Monday Night Raw when he and Omos lost to The Street Profits by DQ.
