New AEW Hire To Be Mercedes Moné's Personal Writer

New AEW employee to serve as Mercedes Moné’s personal writer

All Elite Wrestling revealed their latest ‘All Elite’ talent earlier this week, when Jennifer Pepperman was revealed to have come into the company as the new Vice President of Content Development.

Pepperman was previously part of the WWE and was described as having at one time worked closely on creative with Sasha Banks, akin to The Rock and Brian Gewirtz. Subsequent reports stated that Pepperman was set to resume such a role upon the expected debut of Mercedes Moné - the former Banks.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer suggests that this is indeed the plan, with Pepperman coming in to work as Moné’s ‘personal writer’ whilst also working on creative for the rest of AEW’s TV content.

Despite Pepperman’s arrival, AEW is not expected to change their creative process too much, with the core creative team of head booker Tony Khan assisted by Pepperman, Bryan Danielson, Sonjay Dutt, Jerry Lynn, Jimmy Jacobs, Will Washington and ‘others in the creative inner circle’. Meltzer also suggests that the AEW approach of bullet-pointing story beats as opposed to the more WWE centric style of mapping out promos word-for-word will not change.

Whilst Pepperman will no doubt be used to the WWE way of working, it’s hoped that she’ll bring positives from the WWE creative experience to help advance AEW’s creative, whilst it’s also hoped that Pepperman will also help with creative across the AEW women’s division.
