New Japan Pro-Wrestling finished out their New Beginning tour on February 24 with day two of New Beginning in Sapporo from Hokkaido, Japan.

The main event saw Tetsuya Naito defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against SANADA in a rematch of Wrestle Kingdom 18. Both competitors struggled to put each other away as they ultimately attempted to go for one too many finishing moves. SANADA looked to have the upper hand after connecting with two Shining Wizards. He then went for Downfall but Naito managed to counter into a Tornado DDT and an inside cradle for the win.

After the match, Naito invited Kazuchika Okada into the ring and they had a brief fun brawl, with both men standing tall. Naito then saluted Okada as The Rainmaker left the arena, walking away from New Japan for at least the time being.

Day two of New Beginning in Sapporo was filled with Los Ingobernables de Japon vs. Just 5 Guys matches and the two factions were level at two wins apiece heading into the main event. This came after DOUKI defeated Hiromu Takahashi and Taichi picked up a win over Shingo Takagi for Just 5 Guys. LIJ, meanwhile, saw wins through BUSHI over TAKA Michinoku while Yota Tsuji overcame Yuya Uemura in their Hair vs. Hair Match. Tsuji began to shave Uemura's hair in the middle of the ring before Uemura stopped him and cut some of the hair himself.

Okada had his final match on the show, picking up the win for CHAOS over the United Empire. NJPW's top star is expected to sign for All Elite Wrestling. Tama Tonga also had his last New Japan match, teaming with brother Tanga Loa to lose to their other brother and Guerrillas of Destiny faction mate Hikuleo and El Phantasmo.

Nic Nemeth was in action too as he teamed with Ryusuke Taguchi to pick up a win over Bullet Club's David Finlay and Gedo. Nemeth defeated Finlay for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship on February 23 and the former Dolph Ziggler challenged Hiroshi Tanahashi to a future title match today. The NJPW President accepted but no date has been set for the match.
