New Champions Crowned At AEW Battle Of The Belts

AEW Battle Of The Belts XI saw new champions crowned

AEW held their Battle Of The Belts XI event last night following Collision, and it was a show which saw new champions crowned.

The vacant ROH World Six-Man Championships were on the line as Dustin Rhodes & The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross) took on the Undisputed Kingdom trio of Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Roderick Strong. Taven & Bennett were looking to add to their ROH World Tag Team Championships, but ultimately it was Rhodes & The Von Erichs who won the titles for the first time in their careers. The trio had earned a title shot at Friday's Death Before Dishonor PPV, defeating The Dark Order.

The end of the bout saw the Undisputed Kingdom trying to cheat with steel chairs, but Katsuyori Shibata arrived to even the score, locking in the Iron Claw move on Taven. Kevin Von Erich, who was ringside to cheer on his family members, also used the Iron Claw on Strong too, countering their cheating attempts. Rhodes would nail the Final Reckoning on Bennett for the victory.

The titles were vacated after the Undisputed AEW & ROH World Trios Champions the Bang Bang Gang had to relinquish their gold. The two sets of belts were being defended together, but their vacation split the titles up once again.
