After well over a year without fans, Ring of Honor welcomed them back with a bang at Best in the World 2021 with a night that saw a massive changing of the guard.

As we enter into a new phase for ROH we do so with a new ROH World Champion, as Bandido toppled RUSH to walk away with the gold. Bandido originally won the Survival of the Fittest tournament for a shot at the two-time champ, and after RUSH attempted to rip off Bandido’s mask, El Más Buscado rolled him up for the win and became the third man in history to simultaneously reign as ROH World Champion and PWG World Champion, alongside Kevin Steen (Owens) and Adam Cole.

Elsewhere, ROH crowned new Tag Champions, and a new ROH TV Champion as the company was seemingly reset in the wake of the pandemic era.

In the tag-scene, the team of Violence Unlimited (Chris Dickinson and Homicide) defeated The Foundation (Rhett Titus and Jonathan Gresham) to win the titles. As for the TV Title, Dragon Lee reigned supreme after ending Tony Deppen’s reign at 74 days. Lee previously held the title from 2019 through to early 2021, but his reign was hampered by injury.
